Cardiff-based aluminium fabricator, Dudley’s Aluminium, has started work on a new project to benefit communities in the south west of England.

Dudley’s Aluminium is currently working with Kier on the development of a new bus station in Exeter. The project, valued at £360,000, is part of a much larger regeneration scheme in the city. The wider development scheme, called St Sidwells Point, also includes the construction of a low-carbon, state of the art leisure centre.

The new bus station will replace the current station which opened in 1964 and will include covered waiting and boarding areas, with passengers able to enjoy high quality facilities. The current station will remain in use throughout the period of redevelopment.

Engineers from Dudley’s will install manual steel security doors and automatic bus bay doors in addition to using a range of Kawneer products for curtain walling, windows and doors.

Speaking about the new project, Colin Shorney, Managing Director of Dudley’s said: “We are thrilled to be working with Kier again, especially on a project that is really going to benefit the people of Exeter and its surrounding communities.”

Since 1993, Dudley’s Aluminium offers clients full in-house design and production facilities. The aluminium fabricator has completed many successful and prestigious projects within the education, health, commercial, retail and defence sector throughout the UK and Channel Islands.

Dudley’s reputation for quality has been recognised with several industry-related accreditations. The company is CHAS accredited, Constructionline registered and certified to manufacture “Secured by Design” products.
