Taking place on Tuesday 12 December at St Georges Hall, the Jolly Oli Christmas Concert was Alder Hey’s most festive event of the year, welcoming choirs from across the community to spread festive cheer and raise money.

Alder Hey Children’s Charity raises vital funds for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital which looks after 330,000 patients and families every year. Since it’s inception, the charity has raised over £74 million, providing a range of life-saving medical equipment and facilities that are making a real difference every day.

Alongside sponsoring a choir at the event, a team of staff from Britannia, a regional hub of the UK’s fastest growing private hire technology platform Veezu, volunteered at the service and will take a tour of the hospital to understand the benefits of their donation.

Sarah Johnson, Community Fundraiser at Alder Hey said: “The Christmas period is one of the most important times in making a young person’s hospital stay the best it can be. We are very grateful to Britannia for their support in sponsoring and volunteering at the event. The funds raised will go a long way in improving the experiences of the thousands of patients and families we care for every year.”

Rosanna Hynes, Hyperlocal Marketing Manager for Britannia Taxis, said: “Alder Hey Children’s Charity provides invaluable support to make Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, a truly world-class, patient-friendly hospital. At Veezu, recognising and supporting the hard work of local charities and organisations is of great importance to us, so we are delighted to be able to lend our support in sponsoring their Christmas concert.”
