Following a rigorous recruitment process, Glamorgan Cricket is delighted to announce two new independent appointments to the Committee of the Club.

Crickhowell-born Mark Rhydderch-Roberts brings a wealth of experience to the role of Treasurer following a 28-year career in investment banking, during which time he held senior positions with a number of internationally renowned financial institutions.

Mark currently holds non-executive director roles at The International Conference Centre, Wales (ICCW), Excalibur Steel Ltd. and is a Board Member of the Welsh Industrial Development Agency. He has also served as a member of the Advisory Panel of the Development Bank of Wales. He played First Class rugby for several leading Clubs including Newport, Pontypridd (where he was recently appointed as an Ambassador for the Club) and Bath RFC.

Sameer Rahman, a passionate cricket supporter, joins Glamorgan as non-executive director and is currently Chair of the Wales Board of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Cardiff-based Sameer has enjoyed senior marketing and analytics roles at well-known brands including Lloyds TSB, and Gocompare.com and will provide the skills and experience to grow the sales and marketing operations of the Club.

Chairman, Barry O’Brien, said: “Our new Committee members bring with them an impressive range of expertise and skills from their varied experience across business sectors.

“They share a passion for promoting the positive impact of sport through the activities of Glamorgan CCC and a commitment to helping the Club achieve success on and off the field.

“These new appointments show the progressive steps we’ve taken following the members’ vote to change our constitution. As a result, our Committee will be better resourced to allow us to make a vital contribution in helping us develop and deliver on our vision to make Wales proud.”
